THE HAPPY BIG BELLY BULLFROG

title6THE HAPPY BIG BELLY BULLFROG

There once was a bullfrog that had a big belly and was always very happy. He lived by a snapping turtle, a gator and a crawdad in da bayou. One day the big belly bullfrog found an apple seed. “Who will help me plant my apple seed?” asked the bullfrog.

“I’m too busy, ”said the snapping turtle.

“I’m too sleepy,” said the gator.

“I’m too hungry,” said the crawdad.

“Then I will plant the apple seed all by myself,” replied the bullfrog. So, he planted the apple seed and it grew into a beautiful apple tree with juicy red apples.

“I must pick the apples. Who will help me pick the apples?” asked the bullfrog.

“I’m too busy, ”said the snapping turtle.

“I’m too sleepy,” said the gator.

“I’m too hungry,” said the crawdad.

“Then I will pick the apples all by myself,” replied the bullfrog. So, he picked all the juicy red apples and put them into a basket. This was a lot of work for a bullfrog to do all alone and became sad and tired.

“I must cut these apples into slices. Who will help me cut the apples into slices?” asked the bullfrog.

“I’m too busy,” said the snapping turtle.

“I’m too sleepy,” said the gator.

“I’m too hungry,” said the crawdad.

“Then I will pick the apples all by myself,” replied the bullfrog. So, he cut the entire basket of apples into many slices. This made the bullfrogs hands very sore. The bullfrog took the apples slices and mixed them with a sweet filling and poured into a yummy pie crust. He then placed the apple pie into the oven and it smelled wonderful.

The snapping turtle smelled the pie and came to the bullfrog’s home. The gator smelled the pie and also came to the bullfrog’s home. Then the crawdad followed the smell to the bullfrog’s home. Pretty soon the bullfrog pulled the apple pie out of the oven and sat it on the table.

“Who will help me eat this wonderful apple pie?” asked the bullfrog.

“I will!” yelled the snapping turtle.

“I will!” yelled the gator.

“I will!” yelled the crawdad.

“You did not help me plant the apple seed, pick the apples or slice the apples when I need your help,” replied the bullfrog. “I will eat this delicious apple pie all by myself,” said the bullfrog. And the others watched as the bullfrog at every last bite of the apple pie. The big belly bullfrog was happy again.

THE END
